Tonight the Full Buck Moon comes out. It got this name from Native American tradition due to July normally being the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur.It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, for the reason that thunderstorms are most frequent during this time.
Another name for this month's Moon was the Full Hay Moon. To the early settlers, the nature signs they used to mark the full moons were generally related to farming. This may come from the fact that the brightness of the moon allows one to harvest hay in the cool of the night rather than the heat of the day.
Take some time tonight to step outside and marvel in the moonlight.
